Why Become an Intern?

SASE's intern program is unique to our organization and gives students of all years an opportunity to become more involved in an organization without the stress of being a fully-fledged board member. Interns get to experience some of the important duties that our board members have, such as figuring out logistics for our biggest event of the year - Dining with Professionals. Additionally, it's a great way to meet new people and make new friends! As an intern, you'll be a part of our organization's board retreats in order to create bonds between our board members, as well as closely work with other members in whatever position you're in. You'll be sure to walk away with new and improved skills and new friends!

A message from this year's intern coordinator

Picture
Dear potential interns,

My name is Brandon Yip, and I am this year’s intern coordinator. As a part of SASE’s intern term, we will work to build each other up as we collaborate on various projects and events such as our annual Thanksgiving event, Expo Fair (an event tailored towards teaching younger kids why science is fun), and more! Being an intern with SASE gives you the opportunity to meet and mesh with friendly faces in the organization and beyond, all while learning what it means to be a student leader.

From my own experience as an intern for SASE’s 2019-2020 board, you will be given access to the knowledge of all of board with regards to your professional and academic careers, the understanding of what goes behind hosting large-scale events, experience in organized teamwork, a venue for social growth, and more! If you are looking to step into the world of SASE, this is the premier way to get the most out of your time.

Should you have any questions regarding being an intern, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of the other board members!

I wish you the best of luck and sincerely look forward to reading your applications.

Best,

Brandon Yip
